Join the MHS for a walk in the Milton Evergreen Cemetery and learn about Milton area ancestors. Self guided maps will be provided at no charge. The image above, as well as the one below, are the two images on the site of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (Maidenhead, UK). The image below was sent in some time ago, as part of the Milton Soldiers Project, to highlight the grave of Private Alfred James Evans. The CWGC style military headstone lies between the left bush and the Evans family headstone. Private Evans is not commemorated as a “war dead” by the CWGC because he died of his injuries after the cut-off date of August 31, 1921.
