Ken&#8217;s book &#8220;<em>Milton Remembers World War II 1939-1945<\/em>&#8221; set the standard for the rest of us to follow.<\/p>\n<p>The first step in the development of the web based story of Milton&#8217;s Soldiers started in 2005 as a web based blog. The project initially dealt only with the soldiers of the Great War of 1914-1921 but later expanded to cover all the major conflicts, both prior to and after that period. How the research was completed and the site developed are described in these two sections, each initially being the index pages of the Milton Soldiers project:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Milton\u2019s Soldiers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miltonhistoricalsociety.ca\/military\/miltons-soldiers\/\">Milton&#8217;s Soldiers Project<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This section of the web site now provides information on the men and women of Milton (<em>and the surrounding area<\/em>) in all the other major conflicts of our time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"War of 1812\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miltonhistoricalsociety.ca\/military\/war-of-1812\/\"><span style=\"line-height: 15px;\">The War of 1812<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"The Boer War\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miltonhistoricalsociety.ca\/military\/the-boer-war\/\">The Boer (<em>South African<\/em>) War 1899-1902<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"First World War\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miltonhistoricalsociety.ca\/military\/first-world-war\/\">The Great War (<em>WW I<\/em>) 1914-1919<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Second World War\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miltonhistoricalsociety.ca\/military\/second-world-war\/\">The Second Word War (<em>WW II<\/em>) 1939-1945<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Korean Conflict\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miltonhistoricalsociety.ca\/military\/korean-conflict\/\">The Korean Conflict (1950-1953) &amp; Peacekeeping Mission (1953-1957)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As time and resources permit, other sections will be added to cover the modern day peacekeeping missions and police actions.
